Abstract
Ali Shariati was one of those thinkers, reformers and philosophers who did a lot in propagating Islamic civilizations and cultures to new generation. He presented Eastern and Islamic civilizations with complete and beautiful manners. At first he studied the Western civilizations, and philosophies with complete understanding and consideration later on he started resisting colonialism and westernization. He is recognized as a great intellectual who is neither a reactionary fanatic who opposed anything that was new without any knowledge nor was he of the socalled westernized intellectuals who imitated the west without independent judgment. Shariati studied and experienced many philosophical, theological and social schools of thought with an Islamic view. He wrote many books on different topics and his books have been translated in many other languages. It can be concluded he was a well experienced and educated scholar who spent his life in teaching, learning, reforming and enlightening people.
