Abstract
Islam from its beginning wants to promote peace and prosperity in society by enjoining the good and forbidding the evils. Enjoining the good and forbidding the evils are the religious obligations of every Muslim and no one is excluded from these responsibilities. If these two principles are implemented and performed effectively and regularly then the whole society may become a paradise. Islam as a religion of humanity makes an obligation on every Muslim to care for others and to work for the betterment of the entire world. One of the major problems of today’s society is the negligence of enjoining the good and forbidding the evils. There are people who are good by themselves, but they do not feel necessary to make other people good. Only becoming good is not enough rather it is a collective responsibility to bring reformations in society. The current study throws light on the importance and stages of enjoining the good and forbidding the evils. There are different stages of enjoining good and forbidding evil. A person who wants to enjoin the good and forbid the evil must know those stages. Moreover, Modern technology has brought a revolution in society especially in communication, therefore the scholar must know modern technology in order to enjoin the good and forbid evil.
