Abstract
There are two basic types of existential philosophy, one of them is defined by the negation of God, reason, philosophy, science, history and even values, while in the formation of Iqbal’s concept of self the traditions, philosophy, poetry, history, sociology and especially the Qur’an and Hadith have been the driven aspect. Existentialism and concept of self are opposites, but in many respects, these two ideas share commonalities with each other. In the article under review, an attempt has been made to find the background, reasons and motivations and their basic elements of existentialism and the concept of self. And an attempt has also been made bringing out the intellectual similarities and differences in both and finally drawing conclusions.
