Abstract
The progressive poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz has an important place and status after Allama Iqbal in giving new words, meanings and trends to Urdu poetry. Where there is romantic atmosphere in his poetry, there is also resistance in his poetry against dictatorship, social exploitation, and colonial powers. In the result, he had to be exiled. In this way, his poetry, succeeding to the exiled poets from the colonialism, the anguish of exile has come from many directions. Foreign affairs, Palestine friendship, nostalgic conditions and symbolic homelessness are the notable topics among these.
This article presents a factual and analytical study of Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s exiled poetry and the perspective of poetry that flourished in its context.
