Abstract
Islam offers a comprehensive and divinely ordained system of life that governs not only individual behavior but also the collective, social, and familial structures of society. Grounded in the Qur’an and exemplified through the lived practice of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Islamic teachings establish a balanced social order based on justice, equity, and the natural distribution of responsibilities. Within this framework, woman occupies a position of dignity and honor. As a wife, she is entrusted with essential religious, ethical, and social duties, including lawful obedience to her husband, management of the household, and the moral and spiritual upbringing of children. These duties, however, function within a reciprocal framework of rights, wherein the wife is guaranteed fundamental entitlements such as financial maintenance, kind treatment, and the preservation of her dignity and personal honor, obligations that are binding upon the husband. This mutual balance forms the foundation of a stable marital relationship and contributes to the overall cohesion and prosperity of society. This research provides an analytical examination of the wife’s marital role in light of the Qur’an, the Prophetic traditions, and the exemplary conduct of the Ahl ul -Bayt (AS). The study concludes that Islamic marital principles conceptualize marriage as a partnership rooted in spiritual harmony, mutual cooperation, and shared responsibility, thereby ensuring enduring family stability and broader social order.
